Are you interested in living and working with a busy and fun team? Located between the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, the beautiful San Juan Mountains and along the Uncompahgre River, Riverbend RV Park is the perfect place to live and work every month of the year.

    Work Camping Opportunities

    Office Position

    This position is scheduled in conjunction with the Grounds Shift.


    Seasons:
    May 1 to Nov 1; Nov 1 – May 1 (may be flexible on start date)
    Hours: Half Day Shifts (9-2 or 2-7 w/ lunch break)

    Compensation: FHU Site consisting of a space for your RV and parking for up to two vehicles, equipped with water, electric, sewer and a picnic table along with wireless internet and free laundry.

    The number of shifts worked determines the RV site and/or utility trade. Our Work Camper Agreement will outline monthly compensation in more detail. The following information provides an overview of a typical schedule and trade.

    May 1, 2024 – October 31, 2024:

    • In a work camping couple, each individual will be scheduled 20 hours/week. For each full month worked (160 combined hours), a $1150 salary will be paid per site.
    • If less than 80 hours per month is worked, a credit equaled to $14.50 per each hour worked will be applied toward the RV site rent fees at the end of each month. Utilities will not be included. 

    November 2024 – May 2025:

    • 16 hours a week will cover all site rental and utility fees. Additional hours worked will be paid $14.50/hour. 

    Successful candidates will have previous experience hosting, excellent customer service, computer and phone skills, and a cheerful attitude that puts the guests first.

    Duties include:

    • Open or Close the office: prep coffee/tea service, clean the office.
    • Work on MAC computer and Campspot software/ operate an iPhone.
    • Check in arrivals/Check out departures.
    • Take Reservations: knowledge of Campspot is helpful.
    • Rent bikes and process firewood, propane & ice sales.
    • Communicate with the grounds (via 2-way radio) when arrivals pull in and with guest request.
    • Respond to guest concerns.
    • Keep outside office patio and sidewalk clean.

    If things are slow, or at the beginning of the season, you may be asked to do projects like lite cleaning, laundry, weeding/planting

    Grounds Position

    This position is scheduled in conjunction with the Office Shift.

    Successful candidates will have previous experience using a golf cart, hand tools/power tools, operating a riding lawn mower and weed whacker. Propane dispenser certification will be scheduled.

    Duties include:

    • Greeting guests as they arrive and escorting them to their site. Reading meters and cleaning sites after guests depart.
    • Interacting with guest as they arrive: reviewing the Park Policies and amenities. Information about the local area is a plus.
    • Light grounds keeping including mowing with a zero turn and push mower, weed-whacking, tree and brush trimming, raking, watering lawns, planting and tending flowerbeds and flower baskets. 
    • Maintaining the Park’s common areas, campsite cleanup, rake/clean/level sites, collecting trash and cleaning fire pits and grills. 
    • Maintenance tasks consist of general restroom and laundry room maintenance, electrical and plumbing upkeep and repair. 
    • Fill propane tanks.
    • Deliver firewood.
    • In the winter, plowing and shoveling snow may be a necessity. 
    • Helping manager with projects as needed.
    Cleaning/Watering Shift

    This position is for a single person. A couple may choose to work together, but pay will not increase for second person.


    Season:
     May 1 to Nov 1
    Hours: 4-5 days/week; 4-6 hours a day (flexible depending on workers needs)
    Compensation: FHU Site consisting of a space for your RV and parking for up to two vehicles, equipped with water, electric, sewer and a picnic table along with wireless internet, laundry.

    The number of shifts worked determines the RV site and/or utility trade. 

    May 2024 – October 2024:

    • 80 hours per month (20 hours/week) will cover site rent and utilities. All hours will be reported on the first of each month. All hours over 80 per month will be paid at $14.50/hour.
    • If less than 80 hours per month is reported, a credit of $14.50 for each hour worked will be applied toward the current monthly site rent as advertised and the site utilities will be paid by employee. 

    Successful candidates will have previous experience cleaning, laundry, driving a golf cart, excellent customer service skills, and a cheerful attitude that puts the guests first.

    Duties include:

    • Cleaning the bathroom/shower rooms and laundry room daily.
    • Cleaning the Park’s cabins and Suite after departures.
    • Preparing the Park’s cabins and Suite for arrivals.
    • Cleaning the exterior of the office building
    • Watering flower baskets daily in the morning and afternoon.
    • Washing and Folding Laundry.

    If things are slow, or at the beginning of the season, you may be asked to do projects like planting flowers or weeding/pruning flower beds.

    Other considerations for all positions:
    • All pay (not including bonuses) will be processed through payroll with appropriate taxes deducted. 
    • The value of the accommodation is based on the average seasonal Back-In RV site base rate and an average of electric and propane usage.
    • Half day scheduled shifts average 5 hours. It is important for everyone considering a Work Camper position to recognize that the nature of work camping at a tourist destination RV Park varies in time demand from week to week. You must be able to self regulate your time when it relates to shift duties. 
    • It is important for everyone considering a Work Camper position to recognize their ability to be flexible when regarding scheduling and to also be a team player. 
    • All Work Campers are expected to provide a hospitable attitude when they are in the Park regardless if they are on shift or not. 
    • Per IRS regulations the value of the accommodations will not be included in your gross income.
